Job Details:

AMCU – 27 beds per unit
Nurse to Patient Ratio: 1:6
Facility Size: 305 beds.
No specific requirements
Shift: Days – 40+hr week
Details of unit: AMCU/MSU are 27 bed units, census varies but is usually around 18. For AMCU (Tele) is more of a step down with complex issues or cardiac rhythms that require closer monitoring. The staff generally work the area with chronic CHF and diabetic COPD.

 

Job Duties: 

  • Directs nursing service activities for assigned critical/coronary care unit patients.
  • Delegates responsibilities to auxiliary and critical care unit staff nurses; supervises preparation and maintenance of critical care unit patient clinical records, and writes reports on critical care unit staff performance and services rendered.
  • Maintains pre-set inventory standards for solutions, supplies, medicines and equipment, and keeps track of narcotics.
  • Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
  • Performs a variety of tasks. Leads and directs the work of others.
  • A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
  • Typically reports a director or facility leadership.

 

Requirements:

Must be graduate of an accredited nursing program with current state licensure and at least 5-7 years of direct experience; Plus, familiar with a variety of the field’s concepts, practices, and procedures.

Experience:
– Must be a graduate of an accredited nursing program with current state licensure and at least 5-7 years of direct experience. Familiar with a variety of the field’s concepts, practices, and procedures.
– Demonstrated ability to work in collaboration with other health care professionals required.
-Excellent written and oral communication skills.
-Excellent computer skills to include proficiency in: Microsoft Office, email, payroll application software, EMR -utilization, and Pyxis applications.

-Current nursing license in the state of Illinois; in good standing with the State Board of Nursing.
-Current Basic Life Support certification required. ACLS and PALS required

Compensation: 

  • Base rate is $ 95,000 per year.
  • No retention bonus for managers.
  • They offer a $ 5,000 relocation package.
  • This position is salary so there is no shift differential.
